What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is a comprehensive health system that
originated in India over 5,000 years ago. Translated Ayurveda means the knowledge or science of life. This profound yet practical system deals with health in all of its aspects--physical, mental and spiritual. It recognizes that each person is unique in their constitutional makeup and in any imbalance that may be present. Ayurveda addresses the causes of disease in each individual and supports healing on all levels.
The goal of treatment is to restore the patient's innate, natural state of balance. This can result in increased energy and enthusiasm for life, a significantly strengthened immune system, a greater sense of wellbeing and, perhaps most importantly, an increased awareness of one's own state of health and how to maintain it.
Initial Consultation, Report of Findings and Recommendations
This in-depth consultation is the foundation for Ayurvedic healthcare. Here we determine your unique body type and identify any current imbalances using a detailed interview, physical assessment, health history, and tongue and pulse diagnoses. You then receive a written report of findings, recommendations and customized program to address imbalances, with tools, guidance and follow-up to help you regain and maintain your health. The initial consultation lasts from 90 minutes to 2 hours.
